This is an update on the Streetscape project on the 300\400 block of N Washington. NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURE: 
Both the 300 and 400 blocks of N Washington will be closed to ALL traffic starting at 7:00am Tuesday, August 27th for the installation and striping of the crosswalks. All vehicles must be removed from both blocks by 7:00am that morning as there will be no traffic allowed in or out while the striping cures. It is expected that both blocks will be reopened by 5:00pm on 
Tuesday August 27th but the closure may extend into Wednesday morning August 28th and an update will be provide on Tuesday afternoon. This length of closure is all dependent on how the preparation of the area and the striping proceeds. The contractor will do everything within its ability to keep the closure as short as possible.

As far as a progress report on the overall construction another week of positive progress with the installation of the brick pavers and the preparation for the re0installation of the decorative street lights. Installation of brick pavers will continue next week as well as the crosswalk striping mentioned above. Streetlight installation may happen towards the end of next week if not the first week of September depending on when the machine shop completes the alterations to the streetlights (installing of outlets at the top of each pole). Also the remaining trees for the 400 block should be planted within the next two weeks or so. As it stands right now we are definitely in the home stretch and are looking forward to having this project complete and the downtown area completely open for business.
